Geocache Description:

01 August 2021, 10:00 - 10:30

Reed2ME has acquired what has affectionately come to be called The Geocachers Playground. Mama bought land as a backyard for geocaching fun to paint containers outside, camp, and have geocaching adventures.  Geocaches Playground Part 3 What Now? is an event for those that enjoy planning for the future!  Mama wants your ideas for how we can use this property for geocaching fun!  Due to the new growth trees, we have considered hosting events to build your own walking stick and other events that would put the land to good use.  We've considered building "Deek Diedricksen's Transforming A-Frame Getaway Cabins" as geocaching guest housing for a group building event weekend. The opportunities are endless!

Mama and Chris have worked this land for some time to get the property to the point of having geocachers over.  We intend to move there one day but until then, we would like to make some fond memories on the property.  There are many spots to set up a tent, however, you will need to weed your spot from what has grown in since excavation.  The good news is, once your spot is claimed, you are welcome to put your tent there for the weekend.  This will be a weekend of dry camping, cache in/trash out, BYOB as in bring your own bucket for personal waste.  There will be opportunities for hiking, kayaking, cycling, and camping.  Mama needs supervision as she completes projects on the land!

We will meet at the Park and Ride to determine the number of cars for parking purposes. This is a half-hour event to get the move on in daylight to have plenty of time to set up for the day. Swimming is recommended to rinse off as browntail moths, poison ivy, and ticks are all possibilities in the Maine woods this season.  Let's keep this party going!
