The 'Gadgets of Marion County' geocaching trail is designed to bring you to the most unique places the county has to offer all while challenging you to complete tasks, solve puzzles, or otherwise engage with unique gadgets. About This Location.

You may have heard of Mary Lou Retton, but what you didn't know is that she was born and raised right here in Fairmont!  At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, she won a gold medal in the individual all-around competition, as well as two silver medals and two bronze medals. Her performance made her one of the most popular athletes in the United States. Her gold medal win was historic as Retton was the first American woman to win the all-around gold medal in Olympic gymnastics

About This Cache.

This cache is located at Mary Lou Retton park, an athletic complex for kids of all ages to enjoy the thrill of athletics. This park is complete with four baseball fields, a football field, and a multi-use field for soccer and lacrosse. No matter what time of the year you visit, there is always something happening here. As a result, stealth is of the essence! 

Unfortunately, as of July 2022, this cache is no longer the super cool gadget it once was. Instead, this is a simple two-stage multi-cache. Go to the first stage and find the pill-bottle container with coordinates to the second stage. Please replace everything exactly as you found it.
