Tingley railway station served the settlement of Tingley, West Yorkshire, England, from 1857 to 1966 on the Leeds, Bradford and Halifax Railway. The station opened in May 1857. It closed on 1st February 1954 to regular passenger traffic but was still open for excursions. Eventually the station closed to all trains in July 1966. There were many collieries in and around Tingley. The railway transported the coal further afield.
The short trail starts near Topcliffe Mills and continues along the disused railway line towards Tingley Interchange and then continues on the other side of the A 653. On aerial maps you can see where the lines used to run. Tingley Station was located near Tingley Interchange. The disused railway line splits into two after the station. Keep on the trail towards the A654, where the geocache trail currently ends. The West Yorkshire Railway line continued on to Wakefield and further. The Beeston and Batley branch line continued on to Leeds.
