Geocache Description:

With winter coming ( 2002) I thought I'd place some all weather virtual caches to keep you from going into complete hibernation. This is the second.

These coordinates will take you to the Buehner Center For The Oak Openings. Long name for a nature center, but this place is nice. Oak Openings is a huge area with many trails for hiking, walking, biking, and horseback riding.(The good dogs really enjoy the latter part. Something about dogs and road apples.) This center is just opened and has a meeting room for nature lectures etc. and an indoor area for bird watching and a prarrie dog hill. (you have to see it to better understand- be sure to crawl inside.)It is currently only open on Sat and Sun. 1-5pm, but will expand the hours when the interior is complete. They have great nature lectures in the winter with a nice fire going in the hearth. Call Toledo Metro Parks for info. 419-535-3058.......................... . To log this cache, find the dog/human drinking fountain. There are some plumbing access plates in the base of the fountain. HOW MANY TOTAL STAINLESS SCREWS ARE USED TO SECURE THESE PLATES? Email me the answer. ............................... There are also doggie deposit bags available in case Rover leaves his own road apples. Bring a picnic lunch and take some time to walk around the beautiful lake and hike the trails. This is a great family area.
