The original church of St Mary the Virgin and the Holy Rood was destroyed by a VI flying bomb in 1944. the ruins can be located along the Pluckley to Charing road, and is designated a grade II listed building, it also has a geocache.
The new church of St Mary the Virgin is now within the village and was consecrated in 1956.
