I've been sent to Auckland for a few days' work (and some Geocaching on the side, but don't tell the boss), so I thought this would be a good excuse to host an event, and meet some of the local cachers. Apologies for the relative lack of notice, but I only got the travel approved today, and this is the best option available in the limited time I'll be here.
I don't know Auckland very well, so I picked a cafe not far from where I'll be working for this lunchtime event. It was recommended by one of the people at the Auckland office, and also suggested by another Auckland cacher, so here it is! If it's crowded, and the weather is OK, I'll be standing outside with the event logbook, so as not to disrupt their normal lunchtime trade.
Gloria Jeans Coffees, 36 Lorne St, Auckland.
I've picked a time which hopefully will enable most people who work in (or who are prepared to travel into) the CBD to say Hi. Stay for as long as you like, or just sign and dash, I won't mind! I'll aim to get there as soon as I can break for lunch, so should be there from a few mins after 12.
Look for the person wearing a Purple Geocaching Hoodie - It's just about the most distinctive item of clothing I have.
I'll be standing just outside if the weather is reasonable, just inside if it's not. Looking forward to meeting as many of you as can make it.
