This is an invasive aquatic plant that will ruin Hanover pond recreation opportunities and flip ecology on its tail if left unchecked.
The process: Paddlers (canoe, kayak, paddle board, john boat... whatever gets you out there) paddle out to the patches of water chestnut. Plants pull up easy and can be put in a trash bag. Bags are brought back to the launch. A ground crew takes the bags and dumps them in a pile for the city to pick up. Gloves are worn for this process because the plants have sharp seed pods.
Please log a will attend and include the number of members in your group. Bringing a vessel and gloves is a must.
Can't attend the entire time? That's okay, just add that info in your will attend log so we can plan accordingly.
