Geocache owners are no longer allowed to change listed coordinates. Therefore to keep this cache configured as originally designed the current coordinates are shown at the end of this description as the NOWSEE waypoint. The listed coordinates above are the last location that GC allowed me to change.
You may find a normal size 30-caliber ammo box or a mini Rubbermaid container. Read on.
Log either one as a find. I’ve exhausted all the caches in Busse Woods and need an excuse to hike off the paved trails. So I designed my own moving cache.
Here’s how it’s supposed to work. When you find it, fill out the log and take something and leave something, as you’d normally do. If you want to move it, move it if there is a temporary cache to leave in its place (see notes below). You don’t have to give any prior notifications. Just four rules if you move it.
1. Keep the cache within the boundaries of the Busse Woods Forest Preserve, North or South, but move it at least 0.1 Mile.
2. Leave the temporary cache container where you found the main container. This allows anyone looking for the cache to find something if you hadn’t yet posted the new coordinates. Don’t move the cache if there’s no temporary one in the container.
3. Post the coordinates of the new location when you log the find on this web site. I will move the temporary cache to the new location and update the current coordinates in the NOWSEE waypoint at the end of this description.
4. You can move the cache as often as you wish, but don’t log a new location as found a second time if you were the one who moved it to there, give others a chance to play.
If you find only the temporary cache, don’t leave anything but your log in it. If you find the main cache and really want to move it, but I haven’t yet moved the temporary cache to it; please feel free to move the temporary one to the main cache location yourself and note it on your find log. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE THE MAIN CACHE TILL YOU HAVE MOVED THE MINI TO THE PRESENT MAIN CACHE’S LOCATION. This always keeps a cache at the posted location and prevents someone trying to find a cache that isn’t there. Difficulty and Terrain ratings are just an estimate and a guide for moving to new locations.
