Summer Solstice CITO
San Diego River / Mission Valley
Saturday June 19th
8am - 9am
Let's get together and pick up some trash along the San Diego river! I walk here almost every morning, and there is always something to clean up. Some days are better than others, mostly depending on the presence or absence of urban campers who frequent the area. But I've also noticed people sitting in their vehicles who eat fast food and then throw the waste right out the car window. I often wonder if they actually do that in their own neighborhood? Anyway, let's take an hour and see what we can do.
I will have the log sheet on the tailgate of my gray Toyota Tacoma pickup. Please bring your own gloves and trash pickers plus trash bags or a 5 gallon bucket. There is a dumpster at the east end of the parking lot and trash cans around the lot. Event will run from 0800 to 0900, but feel free to stay as long as you desire. If I wake up early enough, I'll try to bring something like bagels or donuts for us to nibble on.
SPECIAL COVID-19 INSTRUCTIONS: If you are sick, please stay home and do not participate. Please respect one another by maintaining 6' physical distancing if asked and/or wear a mask as needed. Protect yourself (and others) while you protect the planet. Please provide your own sun protection, water, snacks, gloves, mask, trash container, pickers, and hand sanitizer.
