George Street Middle School (GSMS) will be hosting a SPARK Day for those students who want to learn about Geocaching. Friendly Forager and I have been tasked to organise an Introduction to Geocaching for 20-25 Grade 6 students. We will break these lucky muggles into four or five groups and each will require an experienced cacher to assist and advise each team.
The session will include a short group presentation indoors and then live field work in smaller groups. The session is broken down into two parts on two separate days. The schedule is thus:
FIRST SESSION: Tuesday 08 June 2021 0915 – 1115
Location; GSMS Classroom TBA meet me in school lobby @ 0900 hrs . Wear a mask!
0915- 0930 Break class up into groups of 4 or 5
0930-1000 Introduction to geocaching by ranger170 PPT & handheld geo thingys
1000 - 1115hrs assign groups to an experienced cacher. Do Live caching in downtown core. List of caches will be provided so you can have them loaded onto your GPS.
SECOND SESSION Tuesday 15 Jun 2021 0915-1115 probably O'Dell Park entering off Cameron Court.
My Ask: Looking for some volunteers who can assist us on Tuesday 0900 to noon. Please log your willingness to be a volunteer in your “Will Attend” log. Be prepared to tell the group why you like geocaching, or the tale of the find of a Favourite Cache. Questions may be directed to either ranger170 or FriendlyForager.
