About SideTracked Caches
This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath-taking view. It is a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More information can be found at the SideTracked Website.
About Bowes Park Station
Bowes Park Station opened on November 1st 1880 as an additional station on the GNR line. When the GNR line was built in 1871, they initially refused a station in the Bounds Green area, but were eventually persuaded.
Bowes Park is unusual in its construction, as it is the only island platform on the Hertford Loop. This means that a foot bridge was needed to access the platform; this construction initially also housed the ticket office.
Bowes Park was once a very busy station, but it began to see a decline in passenger numbers with the opening of Bounds Green Underground station in 1932.
The cache
Note: Visiting Stage 1 requires you to travel by stairs. However, Stage 2 and the final cache are wheelchair accessible.
Stage 1. Walk down the stairs in the middle of the bridge. On your right is a rectangular gold and wooden plaque in memory of a true legend. The years are ABCD-EFGH.
Stage 2. Find the blue and white oval plaque. The year is JKLM.
You can now calculate the final location.
