Geocache Description:

[LV] Slēpnis sastāv no fotofilmiņas ietvara lieluma konteinera un viesu grāmatas.

Šis loka punkts izveidots no 1823.līdz 1828. gadam ģeodēzista Kārļa Tennera vadībā. Pirms 10 gadiem to atklāja entuziastu grupa un ieteica atjaunot. Rezultātā Seces pagastā ir unikāla UNESCO Pasaules mantojumā iekļautā objekta daļa. Pasaules kultūras un dabas mantojuma sarakstā Latvija ir to 10 valstu sarakstā, kuras šķērso Strūves vārdā nosauktais 2822 km garais ģeodēziskais loks jeb meridiāns.

Astronomisko observatoriju šeit izveidoja 1826. gada pavasarī, bet trigonometriskais punkts "Bristene" izveidots 1828. gadā.

Skatu laukuma virsmā iestrādātas 4 garas līnijas- norādes uz pārējiem četriem apkaimē esošajiem triangulācijas torņiem. Vieta domāta gan tūristiem, gan skolēniem, lai nolasītu pamatideju par uzmērīšanu vienkāršā, saprotamā veidā.

The cache consists of a photo film frame size container and a guest book.

This arc point was created from 1823 to 1828 under the direction of geodesists Kārlis Tenners. It was discovered 10 years ago by a group of enthusiasts and recommended renewal. As a result, Sece parish has a unique part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Latvia is on the world list of cultural and natural heritage countries in the list of 10 countries that are crossed by the 2822 km long geodetic circle or meridian named after Struve.

The astronomical observatory was established here in the spring of 1826, but the trigonometric point "Bristene" was established in 1828.

There are 4 long lines on the surface of the viewing area - references to the other four triangulation towers in the area. The place is intended for tourists and schoolchildren to read the basic idea of surveying in a simple, understandable way.
