Šis loka punkts izveidots no 1823.līdz 1828. gadam ģeodēzista Kārļa Tennera vadībā. Pirms 10 gadiem to atklāja entuziastu grupa un ieteica atjaunot. Rezultātā Seces pagastā ir unikāla UNESCO Pasaules mantojumā iekļautā objekta daļa. Pasaules kultūras un dabas mantojuma sarakstā Latvija ir to 10 valstu sarakstā, kuras šķērso Strūves vārdā nosauktais 2822 km garais ģeodēziskais loks jeb meridiāns.
Astronomisko observatoriju šeit izveidoja 1826. gada pavasarī, bet trigonometriskais punkts "Bristene" izveidots 1828. gadā.
Skatu laukuma virsmā iestrādātas 4 garas līnijas- norādes uz pārējiem četriem apkaimē esošajiem triangulācijas torņiem. Vieta domāta gan tūristiem, gan skolēniem, lai nolasītu pamatideju par uzmērīšanu vienkāršā, saprotamā veidā.

This arc point was created from 1823 to 1828 under the direction of geodesists Kārlis Tenners. It was discovered 10 years ago by a group of enthusiasts and recommended renewal. As a result, Sece parish has a unique part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
