About Southrey Station
Southrey station had two brick faced platforms with the booking office to the rear of the north end of the up platform opening onto a waiting shelter on the platform. There were no buildings on the down platform. There was a signalbox on the other side of the crossing on the up side, this controlled the crossing and access to the small goods yard which comprised a single siding into a loading dock on the up side of the line beyond the platform. The stationmaster's house was next to the signalbox.
The crossing only led to the pedestrian and single vehicle chain ferry across the river Witham linking to the fens, this was largely used by children going to school and railway passengers. The ferry ceased operation in 1965. The goods service was withdrawn on 1st October 1955.
Both platforms are extant with some damage to the ramps at the south end. Both platforms have a cast iron station sign. Part of the goods dock is also extant on the up side. The stationmaster's house is in private occupation.
The Water Rail Way path runs through the station and there is car parking and a picnic area. The Railway Hotel was renamed the Riverside Inn in the 1980s.

F = Again on the sculpture, how many Robins are there
G = The number of letters on the Station signs MINUS one (? – 1)
H = The number of hands on the sculpture MULTIPLIED by 2 (? x 2)
J = The number of floating ‘steps’ attached to the sculpture (do not count the two on the floor!)
K = Number of fishes excluding eels in total on the sculpture
