This is a replacement cache for the original by Woking Wonders which can be seen here, I was tempted to also use the original cache location but decided against it.
Woking Wonders have kindly agreed that I can re-use their original photo and description for the Church.
There is an amount of on street parking nearby, I would avoid school drop off/pick up times when attempting this cache.
St Andrew
The first church was built of wood and corrugated iron, so it was cheap and quickly provided, and indeed in use by November 21st 1907. Intended as a temporary building, it actually remained in constant use until 1969!
The temporary church had been designed to seat 120, but by Easter Day 1909, 190 people crowded in to Holy Communion. The result was an appeal and the new church was consecrated on March 12th 1912.
As the church expanded its service to the growing village, the Bishop of Winchester (then, as for centuries, the local bishop) was approached to separate Oxshott from Stoke d'Abernon and make it a parish in its own right and on St Andrew's Day, December 1st 1913, Oxshott became an ecclesiastical parish for the first time in its long history.
The cache
The listed co-ordinates will take you into a Garden of Remembrance within the Church grounds. Once there you will find a large memorial stone that will provide you with some answers:
A = No of Letters in the first name of the vicar PLUS 2
B = No of Letters in the surname of the vicar MINUS 1
C = No of Letters in the first name of the vicar's wife MINUS 5
Nearby you will see a bench alongside the wall of the Church, this will provide you with further answers:
D = No of Letters in the first name
E = No of Letters in the surname
F = Number of Letters in the middle name MINUS 1
