The city of Omaha has an extensive network of walking, running, and biking trails. They are really neat and deserve to be kept up well. This CITO is dedicated to keeping Omaha’s “Paths of Discovery” clean.
This third one will be on a segment of the Field Club trail. The plan is to meet at the posted coordinates on the segment between Center St. and Martha St. The is no parking immediately near the posted coordinates. Also note that Center street crosses the Field Club Trail on an overpass so parking there won't bring you closer to GZ. (see map).
I recommend bringing a little drinking water, gloves, grabbers or pickup sticks. I’ll bring some small plastic bags for depositing trash in but feel free to bring full-size trash bags if you’re enterprising.
Will need to venture out on the trail to find the trash and bring it to the barrels along the trail. This segment of the South Omaha Trail is paved and short; however, the trash is in the wooded area with very steep slopes off the trail. Hence the terrain rating of 4.0. You’ll get a workout while doing good for Omaha’s Trails.
