This cache replaces a previous SideTracked cache which had been placed nearby.
Forest Hill Station was opened on 5th June 1839 and was originally called Dartmouth Arms after a nearby pub on Dartmouth Road. The original building suffered bomb damage during WW2 but was patched up before eventually being demolished in 1972 to make way for the current building.
