Erected in 1995 in response to a public petition, the memorial replaces the previous memorial which was inside St Mary's Church and frequently inaccessible when the church was locked. The memorial is a styalized celtic cross made out of thousands of pieces of welsh slate laid horizontally creating a highly unusual look
To find the cache, look at the names of the casualties which are recorded around the base of the memorial. What year did David Denbury die (4 digits, call this ABCD). The cache can be found a short walk away at N51 35.4CD W002 45.03(B-A).
