Langhorne Legendary Layover

June Long weekend is the roaring 20s. Its 2021 and we could not pass up a roaring 20s 2021 event!! Now what could that theme look like? the 20s was the decade that changed the world in so many ways.. there are no movies for you to watch well black and white silent movies if you want, Mickey Mouse made his way onto the screens, the introduction of jazz music, the Charleston, the Mary Pickford cocktail, Adelaide had its wettest June recorded, Qantas was founded, women had greater freedom, flappers, speedo produced its first swim suit, aeroplane jelly was launched. then of course there are all the things 20s that people think, prohibition, gangsters, Al Capone, speakeasys, moonshine, bootleggers, mass media over the airwaves, king Tutankhamen tomb was opened for the world to see.

And finally the novel "The Great Gatsby" was published Let your creativity take over!! And learn the Charleston!! Imagine the scene....

But wait the 20's did not fail us in 2020!!

We started the year with bushfires far and wide, Novak djokavic won the Australian open, Holden's finshed in Australia, COVID hit Australia, we had international borders closed, we had state borders closed, we had lockdowns and quarentine's. We saw footy start, stop, play, stop and some team won the season, we saw bulldozers block Perth airport runways, and the Parkes observatory was added to the National heritage list. The Sydney to Hobart Yacht race was cancelled for the first time in its history ( A bit like the june long weekend event 2020).

It appears the 20's gave everyone a trying time regardless of which century!!

Don't forget to bring your Dancing shoes, gangster moves, masks or PPE and get ready for a great weekend of camping and games.

Friday 11th June -           Arrivals at venue to camp

Saturday 12th June -      9am – 10am – Team registration

                                       4pm Coordinate Hand in

Sunday 13th June –        8am Breakfast

                                       9am Game Start

                                       4pm Game Conclude
