Celebrate The 13th Annual “The Amazing Eau Claire Clean-Up."
The event, organized by the Eau Claire Parks, Recreation, and Forestry, sends volunteers to assigned locations throughout the city including community parks, neighborhood playgrounds, picnic areas, recreational trails, and downtown to pick up litter. Geocachers will be taking the Mt Simon Park as part of the city wide clean up.
Enjoy a morning of fun and fellowship while
hunting trash and treasure.
Gather by the Mt Simon Park Pavilion and grab a
trash bag, provided by the Parks Department. Then
head out to the park in search of trash, CITO and geocaching.
Our event starts at 9:00 am and will conclude with the
collection of trash back at the Pavilion at 12:00 pm.
Schedule:
0900: Meet briefly at the pavilion for donuts and water. (Sorry no coffee, but you can bring your own.) The city is providing garbage bags, T-shirts, snacks, water bottles, and coupons from donors which will be available first come, first served.
0900 - 1100 Groups will get different assigments to clean up diferrent areas of the park, including a group needed to climb the hill to Top Of The World, and a group needed to go where the teens jump into the water. The nearby boat ramp area and disc golf area is already plenty clean but folks unable to climb the hill can be assigned those areas.
1100: Return to the shelter for a group photo.
1100 - 1200 Clean up remainding areas, if any.
Participants are encouraged to take all of the appropriate precautions for Covid 19. Please practice social distancing, hand washing and wear a mask during this event. You should provide your own gloves for this event.
