Geocache Description:

Holy Trinity has been the parish church of east and south-east Oswestry since 1842 and its spire forms a prominent local landmark. It is significant to me because my parents were married there in 1945 and also I belonged to the 4th Oswestry Holy Trinity Guides unit.

It was built by Thomas Penson from grey limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and a slate roof concealed by coped verges and an eaves parapet. The original plan was for a single wide nave and chancel with an apsidal sanctuary; the baptistery and porch, south chapel and north-east tower and vestry were added in 1894 by Eustace Frere. There is a late 20th century concrete parish room in the angle with the nave. The north-west tower has a tall oak-shingled spire flanked by four corner spirelets and narrow gabled lucarnes above.

Inside, the rib-vaulting to the sanctuary has a dog-tooth ornament; the panelled nave roof is circa 1856 and there are arch-braced rooves in the bays to the baptistery; the fittings and furnishings are all late 19th century, including the stained glass to the sanctuary and in the east window on the south side of the nave.
