A caching and meetin' I will be. My travels this weekend will be here, my arrival and departure time are unknown - except I know that I need to sleep in order to cache, but if I sleep too much, I miss some smileys. So here is what I figured. In order to keep on a schedule I need to set an exact time of arriving somewhere. I will have no family with - so they won't be pushing me to be somewhere at a certain time, I have no work responsiblities that I need to be at - because I'm several hundred miles from work and I can check my email anywhere. So what could I do to keep myself on target. First step was book a room. Okay, now I know where I'm staying, but since they don't really care if you check in or not, as they will still charge you, I had to come up with a different idea.
Like a dim lightbulb it came to me, I could host an event! This would get me to be at a certain location at a certain time. So that's what I decided. I confirmed with the hotel and they gracioulsy allowed to keep the conference room open just a bit longer for this weary traveler to see if any other travelers or locals want to meet up and chat briefly before catching some zzzz'ssss.
Rules:
Since we are a year in to this pandemic, everyone should be familar with the rules and while I'm not exactly sure what the Iowa rules are, I'm bringing the MN standard gathering rules.
Social distancing - get your ruler out - stay 6ft apart.
Wash Your Hands - just like when you were a kid, and momma said - "wash your hands" -
Mask - Geocaching is not for politics, so just wear a mask - stop in sign the log book, step back and go back to 6ft of separation.
Lastly, it shouldn't have to be said, but it must. If you exhibit any signs of any contagious illness, please do us all a favor and stay home until you feel well enough to gather again.
