Geocache Description:

ADDITION

Logan Council will provide a free Sausage Sizzle after the CITO.  So we have paid for the community Centre nearby and will add some extras to complete the lunch.

There will also be three new caches released (Tree Fishing and a MultiCache).

Plant a tree in Mundoolun.  Mundoolun? I hear you question.  Where the heck is Mundoolun?

Well, Mundoolun is a rural locality in the City of Logan. In the 2016 census, Mundoolun had a population of 1,551 people. The locality was one of the first pastoral runs in the Logan/Albert River catchment.

If you would like to know a little more about the locality, follow THIS LINK.

Here is a locality map:

We shall be gathering at 10am in the carpark of the Mundoolun Community Centre.

Once again, the Logan City Council have been kind enough to help plan a CITO event at the Mundoolun Wetlands, a major environmental park creating quite a lot of environmental activity around the various lagoons here which feed into the nearby Collins Creek.

They have allocated space for a 500 tubestock wetland planting.  All holes will be pre-dug and equipment provided.

You, as a participant, will need to wear sun-safe clothing, bring adequate drinking water (minimum 1 litre as it can be hot there), wear fully enclosed shoes and bring a pair of gardening gloves.

All current QLD Health COVID restrictions will be met for the event.

There are not many geocaches in the area to extend your geocaching activity for the day (but watch this space!!): some around the Jimboomba area may be of interest to you before the event.
