Geocache Description:

20 March 2021, 10:00 - 11:00

Life quite simply is like a game of snake and ladders, the question to ask yourself today is….
-Are you playing?
-Is someone playing on your behalf?
-Have you been stuck in the same place for a while?
-Have lost your dice?
-Do you like who you are playing against?

People who receive a certain level of success assume that they can’t ever go back. That their hard work has earned them their spot — and they’re entitled to stasis or higher. However, life is a game of snakes and ladders. Periods of intense acceleration that skyrocket you to the next level, but also periods of unexpected hardship that set you back 10 spaces.

Snakes and ladders, known originally as Moksha Patam, is an ancient Indian board game for two or more players regarded today as a timeless classic.  From one to one hundred.  Who will be the fastest?  Who will achieve Nirvana?
All welcome.  If you have never been to a GeoEvent then this is the event for you.

You need a token to represent your team.  And a sense of fun.
Join us for an hour of chaos on the banks of the Torren Lake.

Freddo will supply the dice.  ACC has provided the game board.

Each player starts with a token on the starting square, the "1" grid square in the bottom left corner. Players take turns rolling a single die to move their token by the number of squares indicated by the die roll. Tokens follow the track from the bottom to the top of the playing area, the "100" grid square. If, on completion of a move, a player's token lands on the lower-numbered end of a "ladder", the player moves the token up to the ladder's higher-numbered square. If the player lands on the higher-numbered square of a "snake", the token must be moved down to the snake's lower-numbered square.  If a 6 is rolled the player, after moving, immediately rolls again for another turn; otherwise play passes to the next player in turn. The player who is first to bring their token to the last square of the track is the winner.
