Let's Improve The Outdoors!

In recent months, I have found myself running this stretch of the trail a lot. While it is a beautiful expanse of land, I seem to find a lot of garbage; more litter than my little two arms can carry. (And certainly, more weight than I'm willing to bring along on a run.) So, I'm calling in back-up; this is where you come in!

Event Details. Welcome to the Mon River Trail. Our adventure will start at the 8th street trailhead next to the Seneca center. If you've never been to the Seneca center before, give it a visit after the event, it is a pretty happening place. We will meet at the newly constructed trailhead (look for the green sign) at 09:00 am. From here, we will make the two-and-a-half-mile walk to the riverfront park in Star City (a.k.a The End). It is here we will be able to discard our collected trash, enjoy some refreshments, and relax after a hard day of work. I will be able to give up to three people rides back to the parking area, or you can walk back to the Seneca center on the trail. Please indicate in your log what you are planning on doing.

Scope of Work. Unfortunately, this section of the trail has become victim to a lot of litter from the roadway, pedestrians, and run-off. Most of the garbage is located in drain spillways or on the side of steep hills. I'm really hoping we are able to pick up all this litter. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing for the scope of work and weather. I'm anticipating snow, seems to be par for the course, so come prepared. I would recommend bringing gloves and a trash bag, perhaps a grabber if you aren't keen on going over the hills. 

If you attend this event and participate in cleaning up the environment, you'll get to log a LOCATIONLESS CACHE! For many of us, this will be your first locationless cache, so this is very exciting.
