Geocache Description:

13 March 2021, 13:00 - 13:30

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful trip
That started from this tropic port (well, hoping for at least sunny)
Aboard this tiny ship.

Gi 2

The mate was a mighty sailin' man,
The Skipper brave and sure (thanks Captain Tom!)
2 (or more) passengers set sail that day
For a three hour tour,
A three hour [Geocaching] tour.

Come out and join us for a quick meet and greet in the parking area of the marina. After the quickie event, we are going to hop on a boat for an actual two to three hour tour to Lights Ferry Island, home of the very old geocache named Marooned (GC20). We would love to meet some local geocachers that might be able to give us some pointers on going after the 2 caches located on the island.

We actually have room for 10 more geocachers (it's 2 of us driving up from Mississippi, and the boat can hold 12), so if you'd like to ride with us, it would just be $20 a person to help cover the cost of the boat charter. The more the merrier! Just send me a private message (VeteranTributes) and I'll add you to the list of those riding to the island with us. If there's time, we may even go over to Three Sisters Island and knock out some of the caches over there as well.

The event is from 1pm until 1:30pm in the middle of the Pig Tales parking lot on Saturday, March 13.

Okay, it's not quite a tropic port, but sunny and not terribly cold would be nice, and it really is a 2-3 hour tour to Lights Ferry Island for us! We have faith that Captain Tom will take us safely to and from the island!

PLEASE NOTE - When you arrive at the security gate at Aqualand, tell them you have a reservation for a cruise at Lanier Boat Charter and they will issue you a parking pass (this is for those riding and those simply attending the event). Make sure you park in the parking area in front of Pig Tales (this is the parking area that the event coordinates take you to). If you park in any of the reserved parking areas or in front of the Ship Store you may have a boot waiting on your car when you return!
