YAY FOR ANOTHER MARCH BIRTHDAY FLASH MOB!! This event will take place on Saturday, march 13th at the coordinates listed above, and will take place between 11:30am and Noon.
Because of Covid, this event will be different in several ways. First, in keeping yourself and others safe, please take your own personal safety seriously and don't come just for the smiley. Those who are considered a vulnerable population are recommended to continue staying home. Facial coverings/masks will be highly recommended. Always sanitize your hands if soap and water are not available. And keep your distance from others who are not in your immediate household!
Note: This is an outdoor event for 30 minutes in Alaskan winter. It is up to the Cacher to make sure they have appropriate gear for any length of time spent outdoors in Alaska. For March, I would recommend gloves, hat, a buff, and layers depending on temperature. Depending on icyness, I would recommend microspikes for traction.
We will be encouraging social distancing 6 feet apart from others, (and those in your ‘bubble’ that you ride/arrive with), and encourage you to maintain the recommended 6 feet apart. The cache owners will go around to each group, or bubble, and pass out pathtags. We will also take a photo of each Geocacher(s) goup and put together a picture collage that we will post on the cache page. This will ensure we can get a photo, but not have to all be standing next to each other. This will also ensure that we each stay 6ft. apart, but can still participate and have fun. If there are any goodies that will be handed out, we will ensure that they will be individually wrapped for your safety.
Come one, come all to our event celebrating March Birthdays! There will be a pathtag to commemorate this special event! --even heard the event is being held on one of the host’s birthday! Wow, didn’t that happen last year? Hee hee!!

In addition, there are quite a few geocaches in this area that are winter friendly, and also ski trails just across the street at Bartlett High School, along with winter friendly geocaches just across the highway at Centennial Park, in case you'd like to make a day of geocaching around:):)
