Curious about Geocaching and want to learn more? Are you a beginner Geocacher and have specific questions about puzzle caches, multis, Whereigos, travel bugs, and other facets of Geocaching? Have questions about how to night cache? Are you an experienced cacher and looking to meet some local cachers? This event will be a brief hands-on introduction to Geocaching - a real-world, outdoor treasure-hunting game using Global Positioning Systems with GPS enabled devices. This event is intented for the newcomer or novice, but the event is open to all regardless of experience. If there's something specific you'd like to know about let us know in your will attend log.
We'll plan to meet at the parking area, or just off of it... and plan to be walking more than sitting. Bring a GPSr, or smart phone, if you have one or come without and you can tag along with an experienced geocacher to hunt for a cache or two (there are multiple caches and cache types in this park).
This will be a family-friendly affair so bring the kids along for a short outdoor adventure. Everyone should wear suitable outdoor clothing (long pants and sleeves if you have something comfortable...helps keep the weeds and bugs from scratching and biting) with comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots. Grab a walking stick if you have one and just come prepared to learn and have some fun.
