Geocache Description:

Slēptuve atrodas Eriņu muižas teritorijā.
Naukšēnu novada Ķoņu pagastā ir saglabājusies viena no nedaudzajām klasicisma koka muižām - tā ir Eriņu muiža. Šeit jūs varat redzēt oriģinālās kāpnes un logu rāmjus no 18. gadsimta otrās puses, bet senajās fotogrāfijās jūs varat redzēt, kā šeit dzīvoja Rīgas mēra Džordža Armitsteda brālis Edgars Armitsteds.

The hideout is located in the territory of Eriņi manor.
One of the few classicist wooden manors has survived in Ķoņi parish of Naukšēni district - it is Eriņi manor. Here you can see original stairs and window frames from the second half of the 18th century, and in ancient photographs you can see how the brother of the mayor of Riga, George Armitstead, lived here, Edgar Armitsted.

In the 1670s, the manor was founded by Johann Hering, whose family coat of arms depicted herring according to the German translation of the surname. Local Latvians adapted the name of the manor to their tongue and we still know this place as Eriņi manor.
The senior classes of Rūjiena Secondary School were located here, then the boarding school, in Soviet times there was a collective farm office and an event hall, but later communal apartments were built here until they were left one by one by the inhabitants of the crumbling house.
