Geocache Description:

[EN] When going on a geo-tour, you will surely see more than one limestone quarry that has been preserved better, where there are only ruins left and the place on the map. Former limestone quarries are a significant part of Latvia's cultural and historical heritage, where almost every one surprises with its uniqueness, details, and the condition in which it has been preserved to this day.

Vītiņu limestone quarry is one of many that has been preserved in a respectable condition, moreover, its surroundings have been relatively recently renovated, as a result, the quarry can be viewed up close in a civilized manner. If you are interested in a historical page, you can find out more in THIS Dobele newspaper article.

Please respect the marks laid out on the quarry, as climbing is not allowed. And otherwise, treat the cleaned-up surroundings with respect. The cache is placed in a crevice between stones, covered with a stone, so as not to be obvious to others, but the cache location can definitely be identified first with the eyes. Please also carefully put the cache back. Have a successful search for the cache! ;)
