It's GEO-BATTLESHIP!!!
In the game of Battleship, one opponent calls out letter and number combinations in order to find the other opponent’s hidden ships. In the geocaching version, the host will be announcing letter and number combinations to find your hidden “ships” in the form of geocaches you found or hid anytime during 2020!
The Battleship board is being adjusted once again! This year...
- You may use caches from any state/country again this year, no limits based on geography.
- Points will be based on D/T and year the cache was hidden.
- There are no wild cards this year.
- Bonus points are available if you FTFd a new cache in 2020 (5 pts) or hid a cache in 2020 (10 pts.)
- Letters for the grid are A-C-E-G-J-M-P-R-V-X and the numbers are 0-9.
Since the grid has expanded to super-sized proportions, I am giving you nearly three months to fill those grids in! (Attendees to the first four Geo-Battleship events remember this larger grid!)

The winner of the Geo-Battleship game will get to choose the type and D/T rating of a cache to be published after the event and will receive the honorary FTF of that new cache.
PLEASE NOTE...
I am adapting this event a little bit in order to keep everyone safe during the pandemic. If you are participating in the Geo-Battleship game, please email me your completed grid by Sunday, March 28. I will be "drawing" the grid squares before the event and announcing the winner at the event after letting everyone know which grid squares were selected. This will prevent geocachers from having to exchange paperwork with the host, minimizing our contact. When you send me your grid (either through GC message or email) please also tell me any bonus cache type or D/T preference you have.
Will there be a white elephant gift exchange???
YES, the White Elephant Gift Exchange will happen like normal! I will provide latex gloves for anyone who prefers not to handle items they didn't bring. Steals are still a thing. Up to three steals per gift!
