Geocache Description:

What a decade! Numbers 2010 to 2019 in the Little Bridges Series are puzzling Letterbox Hybrids that reflect on events of the last decade. There is a bonus- Little Bridge #2020 - if you grab them all! The bridges are dotted around Backwell, Nailsea, Wraxall and Long Ashton.

You will need to physically visit each bridge- some of the bridges for the numbers for the coordinates, and some of the bridges for the numbers for the bonus. This is clearly marked out on each cache page.

There is bonus information for each Little Bridge - either at the bridge or in/on the cache- which you will need to collect to work out the coordinates for the bonus, Little Bridge #2020.  The bonus information can be found marked on the cache container.

The events aren’t in chronological order: they’re in coordinate-gathering-numerical order!

‘__ day of month’ refers to the date number that an event occurred on. For example the 1 Day of January would mean that the corresponding letter (in red) would equal 1 in the formula.

For this bridge, #2015, you will need to work out the numbers from the events listed below; the final hide is not at the bridge. You will need to visit the bridge itself to get the information for the final.

* A photo of “The dress” sparked an internet sensation after some people reported seeing it as white and gold, while others saw it as black and blue. The phenomenon became the subject of many neuroscience research as a result. The image was uploaded onto social media on the 2A day of February.

* The Hatton Garden heist takes place, in a highly coordinated robbery spanning the Easter weekend, in which £14 million worth of valuables were stolen. After breaking through the concrete, the first man descended into the vault on the B day of April

* A 5p charge on plastic bags comes into force in England on the C day of October

* Tim Peake, the first British astronaut in space without private contract, launches and docks on the International Space Station on the 1D day of December

On the bridge is a plaque from the company that built the bridge. Add together the number of letters in the town AND county mentioned = EF

N51° 25. A (D+F) (A-C)
W002° 39. (B+E) A (D+E)

There is a small stamp in each of the caches, in order for it to qualify as a Letterbox Hybrid. This is NOT a swap item and MUST remain in the cache. Each stamp is a different design and you’ll need to bring your own ink if you intend to use it. Thank you!

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast. There is a stats listing run by Bloodsock, so you can see how many Little Bridges you have found, you can find it here:- https://littlebridgesseries.wordpress.com/ . If you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan on stanthews@aol.com and he will give you a number for your bridge, to qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xxxx then the name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to stats list.
