As this event had to be reschedule with a local COVID-19 outbreak and we are now allowed to catch up in groups outdoor, to remember 2020, now with high hopes that 2021 will continue to improve.
Our previous Christmas themes had been “11.12.13” (Cronulla), “Always Rushin" (Engadine), “All about time” (Miranda), "Spread the Cheer" (Shelly Beach), “Meet new friends” (Menai), "Time to slow down" (Kurnell) and “Pleasure” (Como).
This is was to be our 8th Christmas M & G. It was the year it’s all about “Celebrating and catching up” and is being held at Gunnamatta Park, Cronulla.
Please log your will attend if you are going to come along and enjoy the sunset.
It’s very simple. We usually have activities, parties and functions during the year, not this year with COVID-2019 and this Meet and Greet is another chance to make new friends and catch up with others we know. This event has been changed for 3rd time to Sunday afternoon, to give those Valentines time to take thier Valentines out for dinner .
This location is a 5 minute walk from Cronulla Train Station and should provide plenty of parking for those coming by car. It is hoped that many of the new cachers’ in the Shire and visitors to the area will come along and may even get the information needed to join the online group. The location is changed from year to year to allow you to experience different areas around the Shire and it is hoped that the selected hours allow all who wish to attend the chance to sign the log during daylight hours. We are going back to where we held 2013 M&G. You don’t have to arrive at the start or stay to the end. You can get there early or leave later if you wish. We hope to see you there!
Hope you can attend this event (“Sutherland Shire Cachers' Christmas Meet & greet"). It is a great opportunity to put faces to the names you regularly see on random pieces of paper and to reconnect with cachers’ that you’ve already met.
The Log Book is growing with stories of past events and by looking back through it, you start to develop an understanding of the history of Geocaching in the Sutherland Shire.

Facilities include: toilet, BBQ, enclosed swimming pool.
Parking: Free parking is available.
Public Transport: Take the train to Cronulla Station and walk 5 minutes.
WHAT YOU MAY WANT TO BRING:
- A plate of nibblies (sweet or savoury).
- BYO dinner if you are staying on, there are BBQs, food outlets available so pick up something on the way.
- Drinks. As you wish.
- Picnic blanket and/or chairs. There are shelter sheds and picnic tables where we're meeting.
- Suitable clothing for the weather.
- Your GPS or phone – so you can find us and any caches in the area that you haven’t found yet.
- Trackables for discovering and/or swapping.
RAINY DAY PLAN:
In case of inclement weather, we’ll post a note on the cache page. The event will NOT be cancelled. There should be enough cover available.
IMPORTANT
- Please post a Will Attend log if you are going to attend.
- When the event draws near, remember to drop any trackables into the Inventory. A container will be made available for swaps and a separate area for discovering swaps.
