Welcome to Flitwick Methodist Church
This church is unusual in a couple of ways.
It is completely hemmed in by other buildings. The building to the right was in fact a butchers, with a slaughter house behind it, right into the 1990s. Certainly an unusual bedfellow for a church.
The original entrance to the church was at the furthest end from the road. You are looking at a modern extension with the entrance now to the right hand side as you look from the road.
The original building was registered as a place of worship in 1873 and was part of the Ampthill circuit until the 1970s.
Now to the cache.
In front of you is a fence with AB silver spikes.
To the left side of the church are a pair of inscribed stones. One has the name T C Ashton M.P. South Beds and the date CDEF
The Cache can be found a short walk away at
N 52 00.(A+B+C)E(F-C), W 000 30. B(D-F+A)C
Please be careful crossing the road and be aware there is a 'pond' close to the GZ
**** CONGRATULATIONS to DJ:CD on FTF*****
