A cache and dash near to Lockwood Rail Station, same side of the road. Parking is available very near to the cache. SideTracked started at Evesham station on August 10th, 2007, placed by schnarff and bikermel76. It took a while to get started but is now spreading across the country and internationally! Lockwood Rail station is located on the Penistone Line that links Huddersfield with Sheffield via Penistone and Barnsley. The station comprises a single side platform and is located between 2 large viaducts that were built to overcome 2 rivers (River Holme to the South and River Colne to the North). Between this station and Berry Brow, the Former Meltham branch line branched off the mainline. This line close totally in 1965 but some features of the former railway are still identifiable. Some Points of Interest close to the station include the Huddersfield Rugby Union Football Club, at Lockwood Park and Beaumont Park, a leisure place where the trackbed of the former branch line can still be seen.
The container is a magnetic nano, please BYOP. The road is quite busy, so be careful when searching for this one, and avoid attracting attention to extend the cache lifetime.
