Geocache Description:

19 December 2020, 13:00 - 14:00

Join us for a socially distanced outdoor event in Northwest Park in Windsor.  This park was the location of one of our very early events, where we met many other cachers- many that we are still friendly with today!  We are grateful for having this hobby enrich our lives.  We hope you'll join us in a Holiday Stroll where we can share in a brief period of peace, celebrtation, and gratitude in today's crazy world.

We will meet up at the main parking lot and gather for 30 minutes. If the weather is warm enough for willonwheels to attend, we will stick to the paved trail.  You may want to further explore this beautiful park either before or after our meet up.  There are plenty of caches to find, animals to see for the kids, and picnic tables if you want to pack a lunch.

The plan per CT guidelines:

Masks are required for the duration of the event.

Attendees must maintain 6 feet apart.

We will have no more than 50 attendees. You must log plans to attend and the cutoff is 50 (we don't usually go that high, but rules must be stated).

Per CT guidelines:   Any travelers who have spent twenty-four (24) hours or longer in an adjacent Affected State and plan on spending twenty-four (24) hours or longer in Connecticut must fill out the Travel Health Form and self-quarantine for fourteen (14) days while in Connecticut or for the duration of their stay if shorter. Any resident from an adjacent Affected State who is spending less than twenty-four (24) hours in Connecticut is strongly encouraged to limit all contacts while in Connecticut.  Given the interconnected nature of the region and mode of transport between the states, New York, New Jersey, and Rhode Island are being exempted from the list of Affected States and therefore not subject to the requirements to self-quarantine and complete a Travel Health Form. That said, residents of Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island are urged to avoid unnecessary or non-essential travel between states at this time.

We appreciate your cooperation during this unprecedented time.  We will try to keep the event going as feasible, per CT guidelines.

Sat Dec 19th

1 pm until 2 pm  (depending on weather, we may go longer, or shorter)

Please note, we will have a  RAIN or SNOW DATE of Sun Dec 20th at 1 pm.

The Central Connecticut Cacher’s Night Out is an evening gathering on the second Tuesday of every month (well, most months anyway). Mark your calendars now! Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend...you don't have to reside in CT, and you certainly don't have to be an experienced cacher...new folks are most welcome! Let us know if this is your first event as we'd like to get acquainted. This event features new or rotating hosts every month, and changing locations. If you have an interest in hosting, please contact Katydid. As host, you’ll select a location; get the coordinates; and copy and paste the event page and resubmit. There are a number of places in the Central CT area to enjoy good food and drinks. Locations should be kid friendly, have no admission fee and be within the Central Connecticut/Greater Hartford area. Cachers from outside of the area are also encouraged to host, but we do ask that the event itself be held in the central CT area.  Please note, there is a Facebook group titled "The Central CT Cachers" for updates on local caching.
