About SideTracked Caches:
This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. It's a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found on the SideTracked Series website at www.sidetrackedseries.info
Longcross railway station is centred approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) from the locality of Longcross in Surrey, England on the border of the former parishes of Virginia Water and Lyne and Longcross (a current civil parish) in part of the large wooded sandy heath known as Surrey Heath (which is larger than the area of the district of the same name). It is 25 miles 11 chains (40.5 km) down the line from London Waterloo and is served as a minor stop on the Waterloo-Reading line. It has previously been the least used station in the whole county due to the remote location and no road access or car park. Before December 2019, the station was served by a limited service Monday-Friday only with no weekend service, now it has been significantly increased to 4 trains stopping per hour Monday-Saturday.
