Bilsthorpe War Memorial was unveiled on 18 September 1988.
It is made of sandstone and stands 8 feet tall.
Unusually for any village, Bilsthorpe lost three times as many men in WWII than it did in WWI. This however, can be attributed to Bilsthorpe Colliery opening in 1925, which more than trebled the population of the village.
