The Forest Preserves have not been able to host their usual volunteer workdays these past months which means the preserves need a little more attention than usual. We will meet at the picnic shelter near posted coordinates. I will supply trash bags and and some lightweight gloves. However, I recommend you bring your own sturdy gloves for trash collection and a grabbing tool if you have one. Dress for the work as well as the weather.
I'm hoping participants will be agreeable to dispersing to various corners of Bemis Woods so that we can not only socially distance but also clean up a greater area in this large preserve.
Please be aware of and abide by any local or statewide CoVid restrictions on the date of the event including the following from Cook County Forest Preserves:
- Wear all essential personal protection equipment (PPE) including a cloth mask.
- Always keep a minimum distance of six feet from other volunteers.
- Plan accordingly, as many public restroom are closed in the Forest Preserves indefinitely.
