Quail Island Adventure Event Cache

It is Spring and almost summertime so a picnic on Quail Island would be a great way to celebrate the warmer weather and is the closest to any overseas travel that many of us will manage these days. Because of the ferry times this is a day long event. The ferry leaves Lyttelton at 10.20am and returns at 3.30pm. There is a cost for the ferry and it is $30 return for adults and $15 return for children. Tickets now have to be prebooked on BlackCat Website https://blackcat.co.nz/quail-island-adventures/. There is no parking on the wharf any longer and please park on Norwich Quay. Please bring your own food and drink. If you are feeling brave bring swiming gear as there is a nice beach and remember your sunscreen. Lots of history on the island with the leper colony, ship wrecks and Antartic history. Sturdy footwear recommended especially if you wish to explore the ship wrecks and it will be low tide at about midday while we will be on the island.
