Geocache Description:

30 May 2021, 08:00 - 20:00

Midwest Open Geocaching Adventure

www.mogageo.com

Since 2004 MOGA has brought world-class, internationally known geocaching competitions to the Midwest. Now in its 18th year, MOGA is growing and will venture south to the great state of Kentucky!

Kentucky is one of the strangest places in the country with accounts of UFO's, flying creatures, Lizard Men, werewolves, and goblins. But one stands out above the rest - Bigfoot! Delve into the long, strange history of Bigfoot in the Bluegrass State that goes all the way back to the legend himself, Daniel Boone.

Come and experience MOGA and you may just have you roaming the woods and hills in hopes of an encounter of your own!

The Planning of a Safe Event

MOGA is a massive, annual Geocaching Competition Mega Event, as such MOGA is a mostly outdoor event. The activities are focused around the orienteering style individual and team competitions, the launch of 60+ new geocaches, a free to participate poker run, and much more! There are clearly portions of MOGA that best work indoors, such as the Friday Night event, MOGA Central for the shop and vendors, the no purchase necessary MOGA Sweepstakes, and the Sunday Evening Announcements.

Not knowing if COVID will still be a situation in 6 months or not, we have been extremely proactive in planning!

We have reserved 2 venues that could accommodate the indoor portion of the event, 1 in-door, 1 out-door, and we are keeping both of them as open options for use. To give perspective, MOGA Typically uses a standard Hotel Ball Room, however, for 2021 we have planned either (indoor) a massive convention center hall or (outdoor) a huge outdoor pavilion with a shelter the size of a hotel ballroom.

Additionally, MOGA 2021 is brought to you by Daviess County Kentucky Fiscal Court and supported by the City of Owensboro and Visit Owensboro. We will continue to coordinate with them for the community's best interest.

* All health and safety guidelines will be followed.
