This was once the little town of Churchs Ferry. Because of flooding the town was bought out and most people moved away. This little road was once busy with trucks of all sizes on their way to and from the grain elevator. Because of the flooding the elevator was tore down. It was big and had lights on the top. When coming from devil's lake at night it was like a beacon letting you know your turn was just ahead. That took a long time to get use to not having that reminder. That elevator handled a lot of grain over the years. With farming in my family history, and all the farmers across the nation it's a gentle reminder where food that contains grain comes from. So elevator road is that reminder.
