Holy Trinity, Kirton

 

HOLY TRINITY, KIRTON

 

Holy Trinity, Kirton is a Grade II* listed building, achieving the status on 11 August 1961. Also Grade II listed is the lych gate and boundary wall, achieving the status on 28 April 1986.

The church largely dates from the C13th, C14th and C15th with a rebuild in 1865.

The building is laid out with a wWest tower, nave, north aisle, chancel, vestry and south porch.

The west tower dates from C15th and has two stages. The second stage contains the 4 double bell openings.

Most of the stain glass windows date from the C19th rebuild.

Inside, the font has a C19th round and squae base with a C13th egg cup bowl and a C19th wooden lid.

The pulpit and benches date from C19th and the lecturn is C20th.
