A Church Micro sited at Ponsongath Chapel could be found here until a couple of years ago, As it is possible to drive past this Chapel en-route to our 5 x 5 Coast Path Cache Lankidden GC6R05K , which is just a short distance up the lane and farm track from here, this could well be one more CM to add to your existing total.
Interesting Cornish Trivial Pursuits question. Ponsongath translates from Cornish to English as "Pussycat Bridge"
You are searching for a camo'd (unused!) Sample Tube. It is not necessary to enter any private garden, the Cache can be located from the roadside.
Ponsongath Chapel
Back in the day there were at least twelve Methodist Chapels in this immediate area. Most, including Coverack, where we attended a service in the late 1980s had closed by the end of the 1990s. Only St Keverne and Ponsongath survived into this Century, but even these two had amalgamated by 2017, with Ponsongath at last being closed, and the main building in St Keverne being converted into accommodation. Again I remember attending what was probably the final Male Voice choir accompanied "Songs of Praise", sitting outside the Chapel one rather gloomy Sunday evening in 2016, when, just as the Choir began to sing the hymn "Jesus shall reign where'ere the Sun doth his successive journeys run", the heavens opened, and and we were all fairly well soaked. Happy days.
Hopefully, while searching for this Cache, the elements will be somewhat kinder.
Congratulations to "pr2105" for an excellent FTF, within around half an hour of this lonely Chepel CM being published!
