Please join me in a Community Celebration Event, commemorating 20 years of geocaching. The day of the event will be held on the Marine Corps 245th birthday. The United States Marine Corps Birthday is celebrated every year on the 10th of November with a traditional ball and cake-cutting ceremony. This year we are currently experiencing this global snafu and the possibility that The Marine Corps Ball may not be held this year due to social distancing orders. In leu of the current situation, I encourage my fellow Marines to attend whether you're a geocacher or not, this is an excuse to get out for a few hours, socialize & discover a new hobby. I will provide cup cakes for any who may choose to have one. I’d also like to mention that the following day is November 11, Veterans Day. Feel free to wander about the grounds. Located north of the pavilion is a virtual ‘Soldiers Home' (GC7B8PQ), a short walk away. Located northwest & southwest of the pavilion is the Wood National Cemetery for our fallen heros. Please be respectful & responsible while you’re visiting. Parking is available just Southwest of the pavilion in the Zablocki parking lot; N43 1.295 W87 58.775. I look forward to meeting you all. Semper Fi & happy caching!
