Plešné jezero
Plešné jezero (dříve Plekenštejnské jezero, něm. Plöckensteinsee nebo Plöckensteiner See) je ledovcové jezero na Šumavě v Jihočeském kraji v České republice. Leží v nadmořské výšce 1090 m, má plochu 7,48 ha, obvod 1242 m a největší hloubku 18,30 m. Objem zadržované vody představuje 617 000 m⊃3;.
Der Plešné jezero (früher Plekenštejnské jezero, deutsch Plöckensteinsee oder Plöckensteiner See) ist ein Gletschersee im Böhmerwald in der Region Südböhmen in der Tschechischen Republik. Er liegt auf einer Höhe von 1090 m, hat eine Fläche von 7,48 ha, einen Umfang von 1242 m und eine maximale Tiefe von 18,30 m. Das Volumen des gestauten Wassers beträgt 617 000 m⊃3;.
Lake Plešné jezero (formerly Lake Plekenštejnské jezero, German Plöckensteinsee or Plöckensteiner See) is a glacial lake in Šumava in the South Bohemian Region in the Czech Republic. It lies at an altitude of 1090 m, has an area of 7.48 ha, a circumference of 1242 m and a maximum depth of 18.30 m. The volume of retained water is 617 000 m⊃3;.
V r. 1911 byla na hrázi postavena Lucemburská chata, později majetek Klubu českých turistů. Po r. 1948 ji zabrala Pohraniční stráž a upravila ke svým účelům. Pohraniční stráž svoji budovu roty opustila, poté byla v r. 1989 zbořena. Správa Národního parku provedla v roce 1999 opravu hráze a prostoru alespoň zčásti navrácen přírodní ráz. Nad severozápadním břehem jezera, vysoko na vrcholu boční skalní stěny karu, stojí Stifterův památník. Dnes patří Plešné jezero k nejnavštěvovanějším místům Šumavy, protože pohled na hladinu s impozantní jezerní stěnou v pozadí je velmi atraktivní.

Im Jahr 1911 wurde auf dem Damm die Luxemburger Hütte gebaut, die später dem Tschechischen Touristenklub gehörte. Nach 1948 wurde es vom Grenzschutz übernommen und für dessen Zwecke umgebaut. Der Grenzschutz gab sein Dienstgebäude auf und ließ es 1989 abreißen. Die Nationalparkverwaltung hat den Damm 1999 repariert, und das Gebiet wurde zumindest teilweise in seinen natürlichen Charakter zurückversetzt. Oberhalb des nordwestlichen Ufers des Sees, hoch oben auf der seitlichen Felswand des Karu, steht das Stifter-Denkmal. Heute ist der Plešné jezero-See einer der meistbesuchten Orte im Böhmerwald, denn der Blick auf die Wasseroberfläche mit der imposanten Seewand im Hintergrund ist sehr attraktiv.
In 1911, the Luxembourg Cottage was built on the dam, later the property of the Czech Tourist Club. After 1948 it was taken over by the Border Guard and adapted for their purposes. The Border Guard abandoned its company building, then it was demolished in 1989. The National Park Administration repaired the dam in 1999 and the area was at least partially restored to its natural character. Above the northwestern shore of the lake, high atop the side rock face of the karu, stands the Stifter Monument. Today, Lake Plešné jezero is one of the most visited places in Šumava, because the view of the surface with the impressive lake wall in the background is very attractive.
