Geocache Description:

19 September 2020, 09:00 - 10:30

Cache In Trash Out®, "Talk Through Your Mask Edition"

Saturday 19 SEPTEMBER 2020, 09:00 -  ~10:30

Please join us for a beach and jetty clean-up in Seal Beach. Our volunteer efforts for the morning will focus on trash removal on the jetty. Come find us on the JETTY.

SPECIAL COVID-19 INSTRUCTIONS:

If you are sick, have COVID-19 symptoms, or think you have symptoms, stay home and do not attend. The Beach Clean-up events typically draw many participants of all age groups including those more at risk for COVID-19.  We kindly ask to please respect one another and maintain 6 feet (1.80m) social distancing and wear a mask. Bring your own hand sanitizer and use it.

• Pre-registration only! Pre-register on this Save Our Beach website.
• Participants must provide gloves and mask (mask may be removed while walking on beach, but MUST be worn at registration table)
• Close-toed shoes encouraged
• Plastic throw away bags will be provided
• Disinfected pickers will be provided

TERRAIN RATING: The terrain rating is set at 2 if you are not performing CITO on the jetty, and if you are collecting trash on the jetty it is rated at 4. Note that the rocks can be very slippery and can be dangerous. Wet rocks ARE slippery, and may result in slips and injury. Wear adequate footwear. You may get wet. Protect your GPS or smartphone. Regarding the terrain rating, the choice is yours! Either way, bring plenty water and wear a hat and apply sunscreen.

THE LOG: During previous CITO events we retrieved these marvelous items and used it as the event log and to frame the CITO group, see pictures. Due to COVID-19 and with safety in mind, there will be no log to sign, but we will try to get one or more snap-shot Social-Distancing Group Pictures. Should you miss the group picture, no worries, just post a picture that shows you with the CITO bag or grabber at the beach.  Please note that Geocaching.com does not require you to physically sign the log when attending a CITO event or post pictures.

Should you arrive late, or simply DNF the CITO crew (sometimes we blend in with the muggle crowd quite well), if you attended the beach cleanup and filled a bag of trash you earned your souvenir and smilie. Selfies are desired but not required.
