It may not be time to return to our long table and close neighbours in our “normal” “Italian themed restaurant,” but it is the third Wednesday of the month and we are definitely in need of a non-virtual meet’n’greet!
With CacheViewer’s recent decision and guidance in mind, let’s get together and mingle for an hour on Wednesday, August 19, from 6 – 7.
We’ll meet in one of our incredibly beautiful locations, the Landscape of Grand Pre View Park. There’s ample parking, limited seating, no shelter or related services but lots of room to mingle while meeting public health guidelines. Most of the restaurants in the area are now serving, both indoors and out, though some on reduced hours. For those who want to eat there are lots of choices to buy local!
Our guidelines are clear and we now all know them: all the now-normal stuff like social distancing, hand hygiene, mask wearing when appropriate, and the avoidance of crowds and closeness. As CV says, stay and chat and enjoy, but consider moving on if numbers increase. As long as the current cap of 50 remains in force, we shouldn’t have any problems.
If the weather isn’t supportive of our endeavours we’ll wait 15 minutes and try again; a cancellation, if it should turn really bad, will be posted as an announcement.
Two other caveats do apply. Firstly, if public health guidance should change, the event may have to be cancelled. Secondly, in the hopefully very very unlikely event that anyone should subsequently discover they’ve been previously exposed I’ll ask them to let me know and will post a non-specific announcement letting all attendees know.
I agree with CacheViewer, we’re living with COVID for the next while. Let’s take advantage of the (hopefully) good weather while we can. Obviously not everyone may be comfortable, for any of a number of good reasons, with attending an event; send greetings, if you like, via a note to this page. We’ll think of you!
