About Crofton Park Station
Crofton Park Station is part of the 'Catford Loop. 'The station was opened in 1892 and serves an area of Brockley which expanded rapidly after the station was built. A name for the station was needed but Brockley Station and Brockley Lane Station already existed so Crofton Park was chosen. It appears that this name was invented as there is no historical basis for it.
Opposite the station is a ballroom, the interior of which is regularly featured in TV and film productions.
