Haven't had one of these since January. Who would have thought?
In light of the current pandemic, restaurant capacity limits, and general health warnings, I'm going to have to do this a little different than usual. Hope that's okay.
Posted coordinates should take you to the shelter at Beckley Creek Park. It is a large shelter and should leave plenty of room for social distancing. If the weather is nice, you are welcome and encouraged to bring a blanket and picnic in the small field located next to the shelter. That way we can all be together...but not really. There will be room to spread out. If it is raining we will stay in the shelter and distance appropriately. Wearing masks is encouraged. But please note that this is a public shelter and I have no control over what the rest of the public does, or how many other people will be sharing the shelter with us. If you have health risks then please consider carefully whether attending is in your best interest.
I will bring some small individual bagged snacks: chips, crackers, etc. However, due to the health concerns and safety, if you want an actual dinner, please bring it with you. That way we can avoid having people around each other's food as much as possible.
As with all events, signing the logbook is not actually required. I will keep track of the log just for my own records.
As of when I checked on June 30th, restrooms at the shelter were open.
