Mai Mai - we have a great hobby, so lets Celebrate it in style!!!
Geocaching takes you to some new and exciting places, as well as some forgotten (and unforgetable) places...
And this "lake-side-resort" is no exception...
Located, 35km north-west of Invercargill, on my brothers sheep farm, this "holiday home", has been a labour of love over the past few years.
The opening weekend of duck shooting at the start of May every year, is also something special... In the past, there has been live bands, bagpipes, fireworks, everything to scare ducks away... this truly is a duck sanctuary.
Complete with a flushing toilet, shower, log burner, kauri kitchen, and floating infinity deck... this is a 5 star maimai.
I will aim to have some food and drink available, but BYO drink if you require something stronger.
I plan to do a quiz, maybe a couple of categories, so bring your Thinking Caps, and maybe BYOP too. There may be some prizes to be won.
And since its Christmas time, lets also do a Secret Santa... anyone who would like to participate can bring a $5 gift. It doesn't need to be geocaching related, but it must be useful and/or hilarous!!!
PLEASE NOTE: this is a working farm, please drive to the conditions... there will be livestock around, and there could be some mud. Although a 4WD "shouldn't" be necessary in Summer, it could be a possibility. Maybe meeting at the waypoint and carpooling with others could be advisable, I will update "road conditions" closer to the time.
